About Me

Hi, thanks for visiting my website. I’m Caroline and I live in Torquay with my dog, Ruby. She’s the main reason I became self-employed, after a decade of working for local newspapers including the Express and Echo in Exeter and the Herald Express in Torquay.

Between journalism jobs I spent time working in the communications department at South West Water, writing press releases and newsletters.

When I’m not working, Ruby and I are usually out exploring the beautiful coast and countryside in Devon and Cornwall. I grew up in Kent but moved to the West Country to complete a psychology degree at the University of Exeter and I’ve lived here ever since.

I love all animals and getting Ruby was a dream come true, but before she came into my life I did a lot more travelling and sport. Although I played hockey and football for many years, I’m particularly proud to say I was briefly part of the first ever England women’s AFL or ‘Aussie Rules’ football team. I also enjoy movies (I have a credit as an extra in the film Club Le Monde), TV, theatre, reading, music and eating out (I spent eight months as an assistant manager at Pizza Express).

Although I can turn my pen to any subject, I’m happiest when I’m writing something relating to one of my interests.
